1: Newsom Poised to Sign Bill Making Two Islamic Holidays Official California State Holidays

Gavin Newsom is expected to sign AB 2017, a bill from Assemblymember Matt Haney (D-San Francisco) that formally recognizes Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as California state holidays, letting public schools and colleges close and state workers use paid leave to observe them. CAIR-California’s Oussama Mokeddem called it “a meaningful step toward ensuring Muslim students can celebrate Eid with the same dignity, respect, and accommodation afforded to other faith communities,” while the California Family Council’s Greg Burt countered that “no California statute authorizes public schools to hold exercises celebrating the meaning of Christmas, Easter or Good Friday. The asymmetry is written into the law.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced this week that the State Department designated Autistici/Inventati, an Italy-based “tech collective,” as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity, saying “Far-left terrorism poses a profound threat to the United States and the broader West.” The group ran an estimated 16,000 mailboxes, 1,500 websites, and 10,000 blogs serving radical left-wing actors, and within days, sites tied to Rose City Antifa and Jane’s Revenge went dark.

5: Pete Hegseth Denies NBC Report That He’s Weighing a 2028 Presidential Run

All other speculation is foolish.” American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp, however, said on the record that “Pete Hegseth should consider running for president. He’s an impressive guy and has a tremendous amount of energy.”
