1: Comer: Ilhan Omar’s Husband’s Winery Sold Investors Empty Wine Barrels

The California winery was the base of the $25 million Omar listed on her disclosures before it shut down in April amid fraud claims

House Oversight Chairman James Comer says the winery co-owned by Rep. Ilhan Omar’s husband was selling investors barrels of aging wine with nothing inside. “That winery has, according to the press, been shut down because of fraud,” Comer said. He also says his committee’s investigation found multiple grounds for a search warrant, and the case is now sitting with the House Ethics Committee.

2: Ro Khanna Under Fire for Blaming France Riots on Wealth Inequality

Nearly 2,400 were arrested and almost 1,000 police were injured, but the possible 2028 contender told Americans to “listen to our young”

As rioters looted shops and torched a historic city hall across France, Rep. Ro Khanna saw a lesson about inequality. “This is what happens when the nations let wealth and power accumulate in the hands of a few,” the California Democrat wrote. The backlash came from the right and the left, and his attempt to clean it up only added fuel.

3: Newsom Says Trump “Is Not Screwing Around” as Feds Charge 28 in California Noncitizen Voting Sweep

The arrests come days after the Justice Department sued California to set aside mail ballots from about 20,000 suspected noncitizens

Federal prosecutors charged 28 foreign nationals in California on Monday in a sweep the Justice Department calls Operation Protect the Vote. Gov. Gavin Newsom is fighting back, warning a New Hampshire crowd, “Trump is not screwing around.” President Trump has his own message for California officials, and a federal judge may soon decide the fate of 20,000 ballots.

Why It Matters to You: Only citizens can vote in federal elections, and every illegal ballot cancels out a lawful one. With control of Congress on the line November 3, the fight over California’s voter rolls could shape trust in the entire election. Read more →

4: Speaker Johnson Calls France Riots a “Chilling Warning” for America as Trump Says “France Is Burning”

Some 1,800 people were arrested as rioters torched a town hall and stormed another, and Johnson, Trump and Vance are pointing to open borders

Riots and looting tore through French cities over the weekend, with a town hall set ablaze and hundreds of officers injured. Speaker Mike Johnson says it is “a chilling warning for all Americans.” President Trump and Vice President Vance blame mass migration, while Macron points to a very different cause.

Why It Matters to You: The scenes in France have become part of America’s border debate just 15 days before the midterm elections. Voters will decide which direction this country takes on immigration and public safety. Read more →

5: Trump Endorses Netanyahu, Warns U.S. Will “Soon Finish the Job” on Iran

Trump gave Netanyahu his “Complete and Total Endorsement” nine days before Israel votes, and warned America may have to act alone if he loses

President Trump has thrown his full support behind Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Israel’s October 27 election. In a Truth Social post, he warned that if Israel picks anyone other than Bibi, “America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so.” He also signaled that the next phase of the Iran war could come soon.

Why It Matters to You: The Iran war has already pushed up gasoline prices for American families. Whether the U.S. has a willing partner in Israel will shape how much of the burden of finishing that war falls on American forces. READ MORE
