“We actually think that Ilhan Omar definitely committed immigration fraud,” Vance said, adding that Omar has been “at the center of a lot of the worst fraudsters at the center of the Somali community.”

He emphasized that administration officials are now exploring legal remedies, stating: “We’re trying to look at what the remedies are… how do you go after her, how do you investigate her, how do you actually do the thing — how do you build a case necessary to get some justice for the American people?”

The long-standing allegations against Omar center on claims that she entered into a marriage with her biological brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, to facilitate his immigration status and secure legal residency in the United States.

Omar has repeatedly denied the accusations, calling them a “ridiculous lie.”

Conservative investigators and outlets have pointed to inconsistencies in Omar’s marital timeline, including her religious marriage to Ahmed Hirsi (the father of her children), her later legal marriage to Elmi, and her eventual divorce and remarriage to Hirsi.
