Eric Swalwell’s donor list has been fully revealed, showing approximately 1,700 contributors who poured more than $7.3 million into his now-collapsed campaign for California governor.

The detailed public records expose how the disgraced former congressman relied heavily on Hollywood elites and big-money special interests to bankroll his political ambitions.

Swalwell resigned from Congress amid serious sexual misconduct allegations, including claims of rape and harassment that surfaced after his gubernatorial bid gained traction.

A review of campaign finance filings identified more than 1,700 individual donors, with contributions ranging from small grassroots amounts of $100 up to massive checks exceeding $78,000.

Hollywood A-listers formed a significant portion of his high-dollar backers, with actor Sean Penn donating $15,000.

Oscar winner Robert De Niro contributed $10,000 to Swalwell’s effort, as did “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm.

Actor Jon Cryer from “Two and a Half Men” also gave $10,000, while comedian Kathy Griffin chipped in another $10,000.

CAA CEO Bryan Lourd added $12,500, and several television producers, including David Bernad with a combined $20,000, joined the list of entertainment industry supporters.

“Vanderpump Rules” and “Real Housewives” producer Alex Baskin, along with “The Night Agent” producer Shawn Ryan, were among those opening their wallets for the California Democrat.

Conservatives point out the irony of these wealthy Hollywood celebrities who lecture Americans about inequality and social justice while funding a politician now facing grave accusations of sexual abuse.

Swalwell raised more than $100,000 specifically from the entertainment business according to earlier tallies, highlighting his deep ties to the coastal elite donor class.

The full list of roughly 1,700 names includes a mix of high-profile names and smaller donors, many of whom may now regret their contributions given the scandals that forced Swalwell to abandon his campaign.

One major backer, billionaire Stephen Cloobeck, who donated over $1 million, has publicly distanced himself from Swalwell, calling their relationship “finito” and even suggesting he may seek to recover some of the funds.

This donor revolt comes as Swalwell faces not only misconduct claims but also renewed scrutiny over past campaign spending, including luxury resort charges in Puerto Rico revealed in separate FEC filings.

The revelation of the complete donor roster underscores how Swalwell courted celebrity cash while positioning himself as a champion of progressive causes in California.

Many of the Hollywood donors have remained conspicuously silent since the allegations against Swalwell exploded into public view.

Republicans argue this episode exposes the hypocrisy of the left, where elite insiders protect their own until the political cost becomes too high.

Swalwell’s ability to raise $7.3 million from just 1,700 contributors demonstrates the power of concentrated special interest money in Democrat politics.

The average donation size was substantial, reflecting reliance on wealthy individuals rather than broad grassroots support from everyday Californians.

Conservative watchdogs note that Swalwell’s donor network included figures who have long funded anti-Trump causes and radical progressive policies.

The timing of the donor list release coincides with growing questions about how campaign funds were used, including possible personal expenses at high-end resorts.

Swalwell’s history of ethical lapses, including his past relationship with a suspected Chinese spy Fang Fang, already made him a lightning rod for criticism.

Now, with the full 1,700-donor roster public, Americans can see exactly who propped up his political career despite repeated red flags.

Hollywood’s willingness to fund Swalwell even as scandals mounted reveals a disturbing tolerance for misconduct when the donor’s ideology aligns with leftist priorities.

The collapse of his gubernatorial campaign after raising millions serves as a cautionary tale about the fragility of celebrity-backed political machines.

Taxpayers and voters deserve transparency in campaign finance, and the public release of these names advances that accountability.

Conservatives hope the exposure will discourage future donations to politicians with questionable records and force greater scrutiny of how donor dollars are spent.

This story reinforces the America First principle that elected officials should serve the people, not Hollywood elites or special interests.

Swalwell’s donor list stands as a who’s-who of the coastal liberal establishment that has grown increasingly disconnected from mainstream American values.
