That silence should bother anyone who believes elections ought to be governed by rules rather than convenience.
The facts are not seriously disputed. On July 21, 2024, Biden announced he was ending his re-election campaign.Read more →

President Donald Trump closed out America’s 250th birthday celebration with a Guinness World Record-setting fireworks display over the National Mall, delivering on a promise he had been building toward for months as part of the nation’s semiquincentennial festivities.
The show, part of Trump’s “Salute to America 250” celebration, launched an estimated 850,000 fireworks shells from ten separate sites across Washington, D.C., including the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, West Potomac Park, and eight barges positioned along the Potomac River. Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is facing a potential criminal charge after Napa County Sheriff’s deputies say he struck a parked vehicle and drove away from the scene, marking his second run-in with law enforcement in the same California wine country community in less than four years.
According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 2:30 in the afternoon to the 6700 block of Yount Street in Yountville after a witness reported a hit and run in progress. The witness told deputies a brown convertible traveling north struck an unoccupied, legally parked car with enough force to cause major rear-end damage and push one of the vehicle’s tires up onto the curb, then paused briefly before continuing to drive away from the scene. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has dramatically ramped up its examination of materials seized from Fulton County, Georgia’s election hub earlier this year, deploying additional analysts to comb through hundreds of boxes of 2020 election records as part of an investigation that has quietly gathered steam even as the political world’s attention shifts elsewhere.
The expanded effort follows the bureau’s January raid on the Fulton County Election Hub and Operation Center, where agents executed a search warrant and seized more than 650 boxes of material, including original ballots, tabulator tapes, digital data, and voter rolls from the 2020 presidential election. A new threat assessment report has drawn a direct line between rising anti-Christian extremism online and an alleged plot to kill Erika Kirk, the widow of assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk, raising fresh alarm about a climate researchers are now calling an emerging “assassination culture” targeting prominent figures on the right.
The report, produced by the Network Contagion Research Institute, examines the case of Jacob Wenske, a 26-year-old Texas man charged in late May with making a terroristic threat after he allegedly plotted to bomb a Turning Point USA event in San Antonio where Kirk, now the organization’s CEO, was scheduled to deliver the keynote address.
READ MORENewly released financial disclosure forms show that Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor accepted more than four thousand dollars in gifted concert tickets last summer, the latest revelation to fuel ongoing questions about the ethical standards, or lack thereof, governing the nation’s highest court. The disclosure, made public Monday alongside forms from seven of her colleagues, showed that Sotomayor received tickets valued at $4,333 from Rimas Entertainment, the record label representing Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny.
According to the disclosure paperwork, the tickets were provided for a concert Sotomayor and unidentified guests attended while she was on what the filing describes as a private trip to Puerto Rico in August of last year. Read more →
