Teixeira secured a decisive victory in a crowded 12-candidate field, capturing more than 61 percent of the vote and avoiding a runoff. With results showing roughly 60.9 percent to 61.88
The seat is being vacated by incumbent Rep. Chip Roy, who is running for Texas attorney general and advancing to a runoff in that race.
Teixeira, a former first baseman who played for the Texas Rangers early in his career and won the 2009 World Series with the New York Yankees, announced his candidacy last August.

He positioned himself as a conservative aligned with President Trump’s America First agenda, emphasizing support for border security, tax cuts, deregulation, and conservative principles.
Trump endorsed Teixeira last month, calling him a “total winner, on and off the field.”
Teixeira’s campaign highlighted his real-world experience, faith, family values, and commitment to fighting for Texas families and individual liberty.
He pledged to defend school choice, oppose tax increases, support a balanced budget, and back term limits.
Republicans rallied around Teixeira despite his lack of prior political experience, choosing him over a field of political insiders and policy-focused candidates.
The victory reflects a preference for a proven winner with broad appeal in a district that has historically supported strong conservative voices.
Teixeira expressed gratitude on social media, thanking voters, supporters, donors, and those who prayed for his campaign.
He described the win as a huge victory and said he is honored by the strong support from the people of TX-21. The primary results underscore Teixeira’s ability to connect with voters in a competitive GOP field.
With the nomination secured, Teixeira now turns his focus to the general election against Hook. The 21st District remains reliably Republican, giving Teixeira a strong path to Congress.

With results showing roughly 60.9 percent to 61.88 percent for Teixeira depending on the stage of the count, he far outpaced his nearest competitors, who received single-digit percentages.
The deep-red district, covering parts of southwest Texas, including areas near Austin and San Antonio, makes Teixeira the heavy favorite to win the general election in November.
He will face Democratic nominee Kristin Hook, a former scientist with the National Institutes of Health, who won her primary with roughly 60 percent of the vote.
