Vice President JD Vance publicly rejected conspiracy theories surrounding the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, saying there is “clear evidence” supporting the prosecution’s case against Tyler Robinson. Vance’s remarks came as a Utah court heard several days of testimony during Robinson’s preliminary hearing.

Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder in Kirk’s death. He has not entered a plea, and the preliminary hearing is intended to determine whether prosecutors have presented sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial.

During the hearing, prosecutors presented surveillance video, witness testimony, forensic evidence, and testimony regarding statements Robinson allegedly made after the shooting. Prosecutors argue the combined evidence establishes probable cause for the case to move forward.

Defense attorneys challenged portions of the forensic evidence, including DNA and ballistics analysis, arguing that some of the testing has limitations and should not be viewed as conclusive. The judge will ultimately decide whether the prosecution has met the legal standard required for trial.

Vance’s comments were aimed at rebutting online theories that Robinson had been framed or that investigators lacked sufficient evidence. He argued that the evidence presented in court should guide public understanding of the case rather than speculation circulating online.

The case has generated significant national attention, with supporters, media organizations, and public officials closely following each day of testimony.

Criminal proceedings involving nationally known figures often attract widespread public attention and online speculation. Court hearings provide an opportunity for evidence to be examined under established legal procedures, while defendants retain the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

As the case continues, further rulings will determine whether prosecutors have presented enough evidence to proceed to a full criminal trial.
