Mark your calendars and set your reminders, because on Sunday, June 14, 2026, something that has never happened before in the history of American professional sports will take place just steps from the Oval Office. The Ultimate Fighting Championship will host its most historic and most patriotically charged event ever on the South Lawn of the White House.

UFC Freedom 250 is not just a fight card. It is a celebration of American strength, American greatness, and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It is going to be must-see television for every red-blooded American who loves both combat sports and this country.

The event’s name is not merely branding. UFC Freedom 250 is a direct reference to the United States Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the founding of the greatest nation in human history.

It also coincides with President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday, making June 14 a doubly historic occasion.

President Trump first announced the event in July 2025 during a rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, and UFC CEO Dana White officially confirmed the plans in August 2025.

The vision, professional fighters competing at the highest level of their sport on the South Lawn of the White House on America’s 250th birthday, is the kind of bold, unapologetically American idea that only this administration would conceive and execute.

The main event is a lightweight championship unification bout that fight fans have been waiting years to see.

Undisputed UFC Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria will square off against interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje in a fight that will unify the 155-pound division and crown an undisputed king at lightweight.

Topuria, the Georgian-born phenom who has been undefeated through his entire MMA career with a 17-0 record, brings electrifying knockout power and the kind of technical precision that has made him one of the most feared fighters on the planet.

Gaethje, the American brawler from Colorado, brings relentless pressure, devastating leg kicks, and a fighting style that produces violence and excitement every single time he enters the octagon.

This is a fight worthy of the most historic venue in UFC history.

The co-main event may ultimately steal the show.

Former two-division champion Alex Pereira, arguably the most exciting fighter in all of combat sports and a man who has knocked out virtually everyone he has ever fought, makes his heavyweight debut against France’s Ciryl Gane in a fight for the interim UFC Heavyweight Championship.

UFC President Dana White has said he believes Pereira will surpass Jon Jones as the greatest MMA fighter of all time if he wins at the White House, a statement that should be taken seriously given what Pereira has already accomplished, having held titles in both the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions.

A Pereira victory over Gane at heavyweight would make him a three-division champion and one of the most remarkable athletes in the history of combat sports.

The full fight card for UFC Freedom 250 is one of the strongest assembled for any UFC event in recent memory.

American star Sean O’Malley takes on Canada’s Aiemann Zahabi.

Michael Chandler, one of the most crowd-pleasing fighters in the sport, is scheduled to face Brazilian Mauricio Ruffy in a lightweight contest that promises fireworks.

Diego Lopes meets Steve Garcia in a featherweight main card clash.

Bo Nickal, the American wrestling phenomenon who many believe could be a future UFC champion, takes on Kyle Daukaus at middleweight.

The preliminary card opens with American heavyweight Derrick Lewis versus Josh Hokit.

Seven fights in total, all on the South Lawn of the White House, an unprecedented lineup for an unprecedented occasion.

The broadcast situation is equally historic.

The main card begins at 8:00 PM ET on Sunday, June 14, and will stream live on Paramount+, with a simultaneous broadcast on CBS, marking one of the rare times in UFC history that a card has aired on network television.

That means the fights will be accessible to every American with a television antenna, a fitting choice for an event celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary.

The fight week schedule kicks off Friday, June 13 at 8:30 PM ET with the official press conference at the Lincoln Memorial, a setting that will give the entire event the gravity and symbolism it deserves.

Official weigh-ins also take place at the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, June 13.

A fan festival will be held at The Ellipse, the open park area directly south of the White House fence, beginning at 3:30 PM ET on Sunday, giving fans an opportunity to soak in the atmosphere and celebrate American history before the fights begin.

Fight week, June 12 through 14, will be unlike anything Washington, D.C. has seen since a presidential inauguration.

The weigh-ins at the Lincoln Memorial alone will be a spectacle, fighters stepping on the scale in the shadow of Abraham Lincoln, the president who saved the Union, with the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument behind them.

If that does not give you chills, nothing will.

Security for UFC Freedom 250 is being treated with the seriousness the occasion demands.

The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that the event will carry a Level 1 Special Event Assessment Rating, the highest security classification available, typically reserved for events like the Super Bowl or major presidential ceremonies.

Both the South Lawn fights on June 14 and the Fan Fest at The Ellipse will operate under SEAR Level 1 measures.

Attendees should expect comprehensive screening before entering any part of the event footprint.

This is the White House, and the security apparatus is treating it accordingly.

The event represents the UFC’s third visit to Washington, D.C., and its first since UFC on ESPN’s Overeem vs. Rozenstruik in December 2019.

There is simply no comparison between that event and what is being assembled for June 14.

Hosting a professional sporting event on the South Lawn of the White House is something that has never been done before in American history.

That it took Donald Trump and Dana White to make it happen is entirely fitting.

Both men have spent their careers doing things that supposedly couldn’t be done and proving the doubters wrong.

The commercial partnership for Freedom 250 is equally notable.

The event is presented by Crypto.com and Ram, two brands that understand the audience this fight card will reach.

The collector’s market is already responding to the event’s historic status.

Topps has announced a UFC Freedom 250 trading card set, an online-exclusive release with patriotic themes featuring numbered cards and autographs from fighters scheduled to appear.

Every card in the set is numbered, and the base set features an Americana theme with stars and stripes, the kind of collectible that will be treasured for decades as a memento of this one-of-a-kind occasion.

The deeper significance of UFC Freedom 250 goes beyond the fights themselves.

Mixed martial arts has become, over the past two decades, one of the most quintessentially American sports in the world, a fusion of disciplines from every martial tradition, contested by fighters from every background, governed by merit alone.

There are no participation trophies in the octagon.

No one makes the UFC roster because of who they know or what they look like.

They make it because they can fight.

In that sense, the UFC is a perfect expression of the American ideal: compete on merit, earn what you deserve, and let the best man win.

Dana White, who has been a close ally of President Trump since long before it was politically fashionable in sports entertainment, has brought the UFC to a moment that would have seemed like a fantasy when the promotion was struggling for legitimacy in the early 2000s.

White’s vision, persistence, and willingness to bet everything on the sport he believed in transformed mixed martial arts from a fringe spectacle into a mainstream global phenomenon.

Staging UFC Freedom 250 on the South Lawn of the White House is the capstone achievement of that journey, and a fitting tribute to the America First values that both White and Trump have championed.

The fight fans who tune in on June 14 will witness something that will never be forgotten.

Topuria versus Gaethje for the undisputed lightweight championship.

Pereira hunting history at heavyweight.

O’Malley bringing his showmanship to the most storied address in America.

Chandler doing what Chandler does, going to war.

All of it unfolding under the lights on the South Lawn of the White House, with the American flag overhead and the full weight of 250 years of national history behind every punch, kick, and takedown.

This is UFC Freedom 250.

This is American greatness.

Do not miss a second of it.
