President Donald Trump on Monday issued a sharp public criticism of Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, accusing her of “catering to the other side” and suggesting she has “some sort of act going on.” Once one of Trump’s closest House allies, Greene’s recent clashes with GOP leadership and her criticism of the president’s foreign policy appear to have strained the relationship.
“I don’t know what happened to Marjorie,” Trump told reporters during an Oval Office press conference. “Nice woman. But I don’t know what happened — she’s lost her way, I think.”
The president’s comments came after Greene posted on social media that she wanted to see “nonstop meetings at the White House on domestic policy, not foreign policy and foreign country’s leaders,” referring to Trump’s recent diplomatic meeting with Syrian leader Ahmed Al-Sharaa.

The rift comes after weeks of tension over the administration’s focus on Middle East diplomacy. President Trump has sought to end years of instability in the region by restoring ties with Damascus and stabilizing the region following the downfall of Bashar Assad’s regime.
Greene, meanwhile, has grown increasingly outspoken against both the GOP establishment and the administration, focusing instead on healthcare reform and transparency. She has called for the release of sealed files related to Jeffrey Epstein and criticized Israel for alleged humanitarian violations in Gaza — comments that drew strong pushback from many in her own party.
Trump, emphasizing his role as commander-in-chief, responded: “I have to view the presidency as a worldwide situation, not locally. We could have a world that’s on fire where wars come to our shores very easily if you had a bad president.”
Republican insiders close to the president describe his comments as both a warning and a signal — that public infighting will not be tolerated in the MAGA era. “Trump expects loyalty and discipline. Greene’s recent statements crossed a line,” one senior aide reportedly said.
Greene’s office has not responded to requests for comment, but several of her recent posts suggest she intends to continue pressing for greater government transparency. She has also hinted at dissatisfaction with the GOP’s handling of domestic economic concerns, a shift some view as an attempt to redefine her political brand ahead of 2026.
Social media erupted following Trump’s statement, with supporters rallying behind the president. “You don’t turn on the man who rebuilt the party,” one X user wrote.
The tension between Trump and Greene underscores a larger question for conservatives: who defines the future of the America First movement? As Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance continue consolidating power, moments like this reveal the president’s determination to hold the line against drift or distraction.
For voters, it’s a reminder that loyalty to conservative priorities — border security, economic independence, and national strength — remains nonnegotiable. Trump’s words make clear: in this movement, there is no room for grandstanding when America’s future is on the line.
