Richard Kahn, the longtime accountant for Jeffrey Epstein and co-executor of his estate, testified before the House Oversight Committee on March 11, 2026.

During the closed-door deposition, Kahn addressed questions about Epstein’s financial dealings, including any potential connections to former President Donald Trump.

Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, summarized key points from the testimony in a public statement afterward.

According to Comer, Kahn stated under oath that he had never observed any financial transactions between Epstein and Trump or members of Trump’s family.

This marks the fifth witness in the committee’s probe to affirm no involvement by Trump in Epstein’s activities, according to Comer’s account.

The House Oversight Committee’s investigation is focused on uncovering the sources of Epstein’s wealth and examining the federal government’s handling of his case across multiple administrations.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on additional charges.

His estate has since been the subject of ongoing legal battles and scrutiny, with Kahn playing a central role in managing and accounting for its assets.

During the deposition, Democrats on the committee reportedly pressed Kahn directly about any possible Trump connection, prompting his clear response that no such transactions existed.

Kahn’s testimony aligns with statements from other individuals connected to Epstein who have similarly indicated Trump was not involved in Epstein’s financial activities.

Trump has repeatedly denied any improper association with Epstein, stating their limited social interactions ended years before Epstein’s arrest.

Public records also show Trump banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago resort after learning of concerning behavior.

The committee’s broader inquiry aims to determine how Epstein accumulated his fortune—estimated in the hundreds of millions of dollars—through complex and opaque financial networks.

Investigators have examined Epstein’s ties to Wall Street figures, international bankers, and various high-profile individuals.

Notably, the probe has also looked at Epstein’s relationships with figures such as Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew, both of whom have faced scrutiny in connection with the broader Epstein network.

As Epstein’s longtime accountant, Kahn managed his financial books for decades and provided investigators with insight into Epstein’s real estate holdings, investment structures, and financial transactions.

According to Chairman Comer’s summary, no evidence linking Trump to Epstein’s finances emerged during the deposition.

Media coverage of the testimony varied across outlets.

Some organizations emphasized the testimony clearing Trump of financial involvement, while others focused on the broader investigation into Epstein’s estate and business operations.

NPR reported the testimony in a neutral context, noting the partisan nature of the questioning.

NBC News framed the testimony as part of the committee’s broader effort to address lingering questions surrounding Epstein’s network.

The Associated Press similarly reported that Kahn confirmed he had never seen financial transactions between Epstein and Trump.

The testimony comes amid renewed public interest in Epstein’s network following the release of additional court documents tied to related cases.

While numerous individuals have been named in civil filings, Trump has not been implicated in any criminal activity connected to Epstein in those records.
